Creating a new homework

Teachers and admins can seamlessly assign homework to students in a classroom using the Cosine app.

To do this:

1. Tap the (+) button from the home page.
2. Select “Assign homework” from the quick actions.
3. Follow the prompts in the next screen or two.
4. Complete the new homework form and tap the “Create homework” button.

When creating a new homework assignment, it’s helpful to provide detailed instructions to ensure that parents fully understand their role in helping their child with the assigned homework.

We frown against staff sharing personal and contact information inside homework instructions.

Parents may choose to report users that share personal contact information and inappropriate information through this channel. We reserve the right to transfer these reports to the school's administrators. For repeated violation, we may terminate the user’s account.

Finally, because the homework –when created– is assigned to all students in the chosen classroom and shared with their respective parents, we advise against addressing the instructions to a particular student/parent.

What happens next?#

Once the new homework is created, parents of students in your classroom will receive a push notification in the app with the homework details shared.

Parents will also receive a reminder notification 6 hours before the homework is due. We believe this reminder will help notch parents to check in on their child’s commitment to completing the homework.
